This is part seven of Basic tasks for electrical engineering and analysis, which includes: Using the system browser
Part one includes: Specifying electrical load calculation settings
Part two includes: Calculating building electrical loads
Part three includes: Placing electrical equipment
Part four includes: Placing light fixtures
Part five includes: Placing electrical devices
Part six includes: Creating circuits
Part eight includes: Adding wires to circuits
Part nine includes: Creating panel schedules
Using the System Browser
You will learn how to use the System Browser to review circuits and circuit parameters.
Exercise files:
SystemBrowser.rvt (this project has Arch_Link.rvt linked)
Estimated time to complete topic:
5 minutes
Topic steps:

1. To open the System Browser, on the View ribbon, in the Windows panel, expand the User Interface button and select System Browser.
2. In the System Browser, expand the drop-down at the top to choose what the browser is showing. With Systems selected, the filter drop-down is used to filter the System Browser by discipline.

3. The branches in the System Browser can be expanded and collapsed. There is a right click menu to Expand All or Collapse All.

4. Right-click a circuit or component to access options related to that listing.

5. When the cursor hovers over a listing in the System Browser, the associated system or component will highlight in the drawing area.

6. When the cursor hovers over a component and other branches highlight, this indicates there are additional connectors on the component grouped under these branches.

7. Click Column Settings in the upper right to access the Column Settings dialog.
8. In the Column Settings dialog, choose which columns of information should appear in the System Browser.
