Creating circuits

You will learn how to create and edit circuits using two different methods.

Exercise files:

Circuits.rvt (this project has Arch_Link.rvt linked)

Estimated time to complete topic:

10 minutes

Topic steps:

10

1. Select a duplex receptacle in EXAM 1-1, with an electrical power connector. Then click Power on the contextual ribbon to create a circuit.

2. With the circuit selected, click Edit Circuit on the contextual ribbon.

3. Revit goes into Edit Circuit mode. Components can be added or removed from the circuit. With Add to Circuit selected, add the duplex receptacles in EXAM 1-4, EXAM 1-3, and EXAM 1-2.

4. In the contextual ribbon, expand the Panel drop-down and select panel LP1. OR, click Select Panel in the contextual ribbon and select panel LP1 in the drawing area. Then click Finish Editing Circuit.

5. Another way to create a circuit is to select all of the components first. Select the lighting fixtures in EXAM 1-4, EXAM 1-3, and EXAM 1-2. Then click Power on the contextual ribbon.

6. Since panel LP1 was used in the previous circuit, it is selected in the Panel drop-down on the contextual ribbon. It can be adjusted if needed.

7. To circuit the panels, select panel LP1 and then click Power in the contextual ribbon.

8. On the contextual ribbon, in the Panel drop-down, select T1.

9. Select transformer T1 and then click Power in the contextual ribbon.

10. On the contextual ribbon, in the Panel drop-down, select MDP1.
