Issue:

Publishing models from Revit to BIM 360 Document Management is slow.

  • The upload process is fast, but the extraction on BIM 360 Document Management can take up to several hours.
  • Sets that are created in Revit do not appear and the dialog box shows that it's still processing.
  • The time for BIM 360 to post the "last updated" date/time is fairly quick however, the spinning wheel BIM 360 Website is not quick.

Environment:

BIM 360

Causes:

The extraction is still taking place. The extraction process can take longer if:

  • There are many linked files in the Revit model.
  • There are any errors in publishing one of the linked models.
  • There is any corruption in one of the linked models.
  • Many Views/Sheets have been selected in the Set to be published.
  • Upload might have been done from a Citrix network drive instead of the local machine.

Solution:

Refer to the following article: Revit model takes a long time to extract or publish to BIM 360

Products:

Revit Product Family; Revit Cloud Worksharing; BIM 360;
