Follow the instructions in this section to install the Vault Office thin client functionality and the Vault Office thick client. You can also decide on which Vault add-ins to include.
Install Vault Office (Server) on the Vault Server
To use the Vault Office thin client functionality or the Vault thick client, you must install the Vault Office (Server).
The Vault Office Server must be installed on a machine where Autodesk
Vault Server is already installed.
- On your Vault server machine, navigate to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ADMS [edition] [release]\Server\Web\Services (or your equivalent custom installation directory) and backup the web.config file.
- Run setup.exe on the Vault Server installation media.
- Click Install Tools & Utilities.
- Accept the License and Services Agreement.
- On the Configure Installation page, select
Autodesk Vault Office 2020 (Server)
.
- By default the Vault Office server is installed to
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\. Click the Browse button to select a different location.
- Click Install.
Note: The Vault Office Server cannot be installed without the Vault Thin Client on your server machine. But you can install the Vault Thin Client without the Vault Office Server.
Also, you can install the Vault Office thick client on your client machine. If desired, you can include the Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook Vault add-ins with either client installation.
You can install Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook Vault add-In using these steps:
- In Windows, open Program and Feature.
- Find Autodesk Vault [edition] [release] (Client).
- Click Uninstall/Change.
- Click Add or Remove Features.
- Check MS Office Add-In or MS Outlook Add-In.
- Click Update.
