Issue:

How to convert STP file into IFC in Revit?
After saving the STP as DWG in AutoCAD and importing it to Revit, the exported IFC file is blank. How to export the correct IFC file?

Causes:

The DWG created from STP in AutoCAD has no Revit categories assigned, so they cannot be recognized and exported properly to IFC from Revit.

Solution:

To convert STP file info IFC use AutoCAD products with IFC Export option. For more information see Can AutoCAD export a DWG to the IFC file format?

Check the following steps:
1. Import STP file into AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD MEP or Civil 3D.
2. Go to Export > IFC

3. Enter project information and click Export.
