What:
After 14 years, the German version of Revit has a completely updated and improved library that supports users in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Customers are excited. In fact, because many families are usable in English or German, even non-German speakers now use many of the families and templates.
Check out the 5,000 new professional Revit library files and templates in German. They are useful in any country that uses the metric system and most of them need no translation.
Who:
Architects, Engineers, Designers, any Revit users that work in the metric system.
How:

Here are some examples that quickly show the advantages for non-German speakers:
• New, very realistic, flexible, and parametric windows. These windows have many parameters for a wide range of windows, including sunblinds (awnings) and shutters.
• For doors, you now have a variety of entrance doors, revolving doors, office doors that have glass side elements, and so on.
The families just described might need previous knowledge or translation of some adjustable parameters. However, the following families don’t:
• Exterior components like sports and play equipment, car charging stations, trucks, and checkpoints have universal parameters, so you don’t need to change them.
• Families of construction-site equipment like cranes, construction containers, fences, and silos. These families help you calculate costs, plan the space you need, or find the best location and coverage for cranes.
• Finally, the new templates. They might be too German for you, but we changed them to better follow real-life customer workflows. With just one template, architects and structural engineers can work together better on one project. The templates also have three Revit levels per floor, advanced schedules, sheets, view templates, and so on.
Why:
Everybody is always looking for Revit families that fit their current projects; they search the entire Internet for them. Although the new German library might present some translation issues, it primarily provides high-quality families that help every Revit user create better buildings faster.
What next?
You can download this additional library from the standard Revit installation.
1. In Windows 10, choose Settings > Apps & Features.
2. Find Autodesk Revit Content Libraries 2019 and click Uninstall. (Don’t worry, this doesn’t uninstall your libraries.)
3. Search in the Content window, and select the German content Germany, Austria, Switzerland.
4. Complete the installation.
You can now enjoy the new families.
