Customize the IFC Setup

Before exporting a model to IFC, you can create or modify an export setup to meet your needs.

You can customize the setup options when you export a project to IFC.

In the Export IFC dialog, click Modify setup. See IFC Export Setup Options.

You can modify the In-Session Setup or create additional named setups using the Create or Duplicate options. The new setup configurations you create are saved with the project, and can be reused if the same model is exported.

To modify settings for the current export only

1. In the Export IFC dialog, Current selected setup, select <In-Session Setup>.
2. Modify the options on the tabs in the Modify Setup dialog.
3. Click OK.
   Note: Changes you make to the in-session setup are not saved between sessions.

To create a setup

1. In the Modify Setup dialog, click (Create a new setup).
2. In the New export setup dialog, enter a name, and click OK.
3. Modify the options as desired on the tabs in the Modify Setup dialog.

To create a setup based on an existing setup

1. In the Modify Setup dialog, select a setup in the left pane, and click (Create a new setup based on the selected setup).
2. In the New export setup dialog, enter a name, and click OK.
3. Modify the options as desired on the tabs in the Modify Setup dialog.
4. Click OK.

To delete a setup

1. In the Modify Setup dialog, select a setup.
   Note: Built-in setups cannot be deleted.
2. Click (Delete the selected setup).

To rename a setup

1. In the Modify Setup dialog, select a setup.
   Note: Built-in setups cannot be renamed.
2. Click (Rename the selected setup).
3. In the Rename export setup dialog, enter a new name, and click OK.
