About 3D Views

Use perspective and orthographic 3D views to visualize the model and to add and modify building elements.

You can perform most types of modeling in 3D views. In perspective views, you cannot add annotations, but you can use temporary dimensions.

Perspective 3D Views

Perspective views show the building model in a 3D view where components that are further away appear smaller, and components that are closer appear larger.

When you create or open a perspective 3D view, the View Control Bar indicates that it is a perspective view.

Orthographic 3D Views

Orthographic 3D views show the building model in a 3D view where all components are the same size regardless of the camera’s distance.
