About Revit Cloud Worksharing

Use the Revit Cloud Worksharing service to author Revit models in the cloud concurrently with other team members.

Revit Cloud Worksharing includes access to the following:

BIM 360 Docs allows you to manage and work on models in a single cloud repository with other important stakeholders.
BIM 360 Team is a central cloud workspace where you can collaborate with team members on models and projects.

Which should I use?

To decide which tool to use with Revit Cloud Worksharing, consider the following:

If your organization is already set up to use BIM 360 Team with Revit Cloud Worksharing, continue to use that solution. See Workflow: Revit Cloud Worksharing and BIM 360 Team. Note, however, that BIM 360 Team is supported for Revit 2015 through Revit 2018.3.
If your organization is not set up to use BIM 360 Team, use BIM 360 Docs. This solution offers more granular permission controls, enhanced security, and integration with additional design collaboration tools. See Workflow: Revit Cloud Worksharing and BIM 360 Document Management.

Using Revit Cloud Worksharing

To collaborate on a Revit model in the cloud, you must upload the model to BIM 360 Document Management or to BIM 360 Team. During the upload process, the following events occur:

If the model does not yet have worksharing enabled, worksharing is automatically enabled, the Revit model is uploaded to the BIM 360 project, and a locally-cached version is created on your computer.
If the model is already workshared, the Revit model is uploaded to the BIM 360 project, and a locally-cached version is created on your computer.
