Work with Insulation

Use the Insulation tool to place a batt insulation graphic in a detail view or a drafting view. You can adjust the length and width of the insulation, as well as the size of the bulge between insulation lines.

To add insulation

  1. Click Annotate tabDetail panel (Insulation).
  2. Sketch the insulation in a detail view.

Insulation is sketched similar to model lines. You can set an offset from the cursor, and you can pick a line on which to sketch the insulation.

To change the width of the insulation

  1. Select the insulation.
  2. On the Properties palette, specify a value for Insulation Width.

To change the length of the insulation

  1. Select the insulation.
  2. Click and drag one of the blue dot controls that appear on the ends of the insulation.

To resize the bulge between insulation lines

  1. Select the insulation.
  2. On the Properties palette, specify a value for the Insulation Bulge to Width Ratio (1/x).

A smaller value increases the bulge, while a larger value decreases it.
