Autodesk® PowerShape Utility for Netfabb® is an additive-manufacturing application, which provides quick and easy methods to ready CAD models for production. It covers five main areas of model preparation:
- Checking the quality of the CAD model and repairing any problems.
- Positioning the part in the optimum orientation for layer-by-layer manufacture.
- Addition of fixtures, supports, and other geometry required to ensure reliable manufacture and easier post-processing.
- Exporting the data in a suitable file format for manufacture.
- Integration with subtractive manufacturing applications.
Work-flow
To prepare a part for production:
- Create or open a project using the
Projects tab of the
Queue page.
Note: The
Queue page is displayed when you open
Autodesk® PowerShape Utility for Netfabb®, or you can open it by selecting
Queue in the Main toolbar at the top of the screen.
- Specify the machine you want to use in the
Settings tab of the
Queue page.
- Import the parts you want to machine using the
Import tab of the
Queue page.
- Edit the shapes of the parts, and prepare and export them for printing using the modes options.
