How many Mental Ray for Maya licenses are available with one license of Maya?

This is dependent on the Maya license used:

If a Standalone license or Desktop Subscription is used, then there are no extra licenses for Mental Ray network batch renders in Maya
If a Network license for Maya is used, 5 licenses for Mental Ray for Maya batch rendering are included for every network license seat of Maya.
For Mental Ray Satellite you can render on up to 5 different satellite machines no matter the license type.
- Rendering with Maya Software is free whether you have standalone Maya or network licensed Maya.

Follow these steps to set up:

Set up your license server with Maya Network License
Install Maya on 5 machines and specify your license server name during the product installation
Start Maya on one of your systems, it will take Maya interactive license, if you use Mental Ray for Maya batch rendering, then it will take 1 out of 5 mental ray for Maya batch licenses
On the remaining 4 machines you will not be able to open Maya (if Maya is already open on a different machine), but you will be able to run a command line mental ray for Maya batch rendering.
