Diagram

Use to select specific results types being presented as diagram on structure beams. First, select a beam. Then specify results to be shown as diagrams.

Access:

Ribbon: Frame Analysis tab Result panel Diagram

There can be multiple diagrams applied at the same time. So, for example, Mx, My, Mz diagrams can be displayed in the graphics window at the same time. The direction of the graph is important and always follows beam coordinate system. Diagrams are always represented on undeformed beams.

The graphs that would normally be displayed along the beam axis are displayed along Y or Z axis of the beam coordinate system (in plane XY or XZ).

You can select an appropriate color for each of these quantities and differentiate positive and negative values in the Diagrams tab of Frame Analysis Settings.

Use the Diagram Scales dialog box to adjust the scale of displayed diagrams.

When the simulation results are obsolete, a lighting icon displays in the dialog box. To update the results, click Simulate in the Solve panel.

Beams

Specify beams where diagrams are displayed:

  • All Beams: Diagrams are displayed for all beams.
  • Selected Beams: Diagrams display for selected beams.
  • All Beams Except Selected: Select beams where diagrams are not displayed.
  • Beams: Select beams for which you want to display or hide diagrams.
Forces Select force results being presented as diagrams.
Moments Select moment results being presented as diagrams.
Normal Stresses Select normal stresses results being presented as diagrams.
Shear Stresses Select shear stresses results being presented as diagrams.
Torsional Stresses Select torsional stresses results being presented as diagrams.
Select All Displays the diagrams of all the quantities.
None Shows no diagram.
