To Set a Project Search Path

Set Path for Included File, Workspace, Workgroup, or Library

  1. To access the Project editor, do one of the following:
    • In Autodesk Inventor, select Manage Projects.
    • Outside Autodesk Inventor, click Start Programs Autodesk Inventor [version] Tools Project Editor.
  2. In the Project Editor, upper pane, select the project to edit.
  3. In the lower pane, right-click a path category, and then select an option:
    • To set the path for an included file, right-click Included File, and then click Edit.
    • To set the path for a workspace, right-click Workspace, and then click Add Path.
      Note: In a Single User or Semi-isolated Workspace project, you can copy files to your workspace to work on them. You can use Design Assistant to copy the files, or when you check them out of a workgroup location, they are automatically copied to your workspace. In the File Status browser, click a name with an icon to the left indicating it is available for check-out, and then click Check Out.
    • To set a workgroup search path or library location, right-click Workgroup Search Paths or Libraries. Then click an option, such as Add Paths from File (select an .ipj file) or Add Path from Directory (select a folder).

Add Library Search Paths from Other Projects

  1. Verify that all Autodesk Inventor files are closed.
  2. Open the Project Editor, and then click New.
  3. On the first two pages of the Project wizard, specify the project type, the project name, and location of the workspace or workgroup. Click Next.
  4. On the Select Libraries page, use the Add and Remove arrows to create a list in the New Project pane. Click Finish.
    Note: When you install Autodesk Inventor, you can select a setting to allow edits to content library files. To reset this option, reinstall the application.
