Topics in this section
Turning Profile Profile is used for both roughing and finishing the part. Machine Outside Diameter (OD), Inside Diameter (ID) and Face profiles. You can control the cut direction, tool orientation and limit the toolpath area by using Geometry - Confinement boundaries.
Turning Groove
The Groove strategy is used for both roughing and finishing of the part using groove tools.
Turning Face
The Face strategy is used for machining the frontside of the part.
Turning Single Groove
The Single Groove strategy is used for grooving at selected positions only. It will create a groove equal to the width of the insert. Perfect for making a clearance groove behind the thread.
Turning Chamfer
The Chamfer strategy is used for chamfering sharp corners that have not been chamfered in the design.
Turning Part
The Part strategy is used for cutting the part off of the bar. Also referred to as a Cut Off operation.
Turning Thread
The Thread strategy is used for turning OD, ID, cylindrical and conical threads. The CNC control must have built-in support for synchronizing the spindle and feed.
Turning Stock Transfer Stock Transfer moves the part between the Main and the Sub-Spindle. There are 2 functions to achieve this.
