Design a parametric BIM bridge

What:

It’s always been a challenge to easily create different road proposals with all the constraints and alignments on a bridge.

Who:   

Civil engineers, landscape architects, surveyors, structural engineers, and others in the AEC industry involved in creating roads with a bridge connected to the alignment.

How:

Create a new Bridge project in InfraWorks :

  1.  Create terrain with Model Builder.
  2. Create the Road.
  3. Add a Bridge with the first point and the last point of the bridge, or the distance spanned.
  4. Adapt the Vertical Profile with the Profile View.
  5. Decide whether the Bridge is of steel or concrete.
  6. Choose the number of piles.
  7. Change the skew of the piles.
  8. Change the type of piles.
  9. Validate the size and the number of griders.
  10. Choose the continuity of the deck and griders.
  11. Choose the foundations.
  12. Validate the clerance envelope and update the vertical profile. 

Why:

When you apply the BIM process to infrastructure, you need to develop a BIM bridge methodology.

  Use  Revit to create a shop drawing of your Infraworks bridge.
