About Traffic Simulation
Use the Traffic Simulation tool to analyze traffic flow through intersections, display color-coded traffic analysis results, and generate traffic simulation animations to play in your model. Use the Traffic Analyst panel to specify advanced demand matrices, profiles, vehicle types, driver types, and other variables. Or, use default traffic demand for a quick demonstration.
To use Traffic Simulation, you need to install and maintain a supported Java Runtime Environment.
Supported JREs
Oracle Java SE*, Amazon Corretto, or OpenJDK Java Runtime Environments are supported.
(* Oracle Java requires a license for commercial use.)
Supported JRE versions
All Java Runtime Environments require 64-bit installations. 32-bit is not supported.
- Amazon Corretto 8
- OpenJDK 11
- Oracle Java SE (JDK 8,9,10, or 11; and JRE 8,9,10 are supported)
Important: The Traffic Simulation service is only supported for the current release of Autodesk InfraWorks.
Note: The Traffic Simulation tool only works on component roads so planning roads must be converted. Convert a planning road to a component road using the right-click context menu.
