Issue:

Users reported that it's not possible to drag or "Cut/Copy > Paste/Paste New" a component or body from one component to another in Fusion. This may also include being unable to move bodies to a group or to move sketches into components.

Causes:

The timeline is preventing the restructure of the browser tree due to timeline errors or references that exist in the design.

Solution:

Reopen Fusion design

Close and reopen the design, then try dragging the design entity again.

Move timeline marker

Drag the timeline marker to the end of the timeline before attempting to move any design entities.

Copy/Paste command instead of Cut/Paste

  1. Right-click the desired body/component in the browser tree.
  2. Click copy.
  3. Right-click the desired location in the browser tree.
  4. Click Paste New.

Resolve timeline errors

Address any yellow or red timeline warnings and errors before moving design entities. See: Resolving Timeline Warning or Errors in Fusion.

Turn off timeline

Disable the timeline by using "Do not capture design history." See: How to turn off Timeline in Fusion.

Disable any contact sets

  1. Right-click the contact set in the browser tree.
  2. Select Delete.

The Delete option within the Fusion Browser.
