Why would Fusion 360 be in offline mode?

Fusion 360 will automatically go into offline mode in the following cases:

1. When we are preparing an important client-side update*

2. When we are preparing an important server-side update*

3. When it detects that you are not connected to the internet

* We typically communicate this through a banner that shows up in Fusion 360, telling you when it is happening as well as how long it will be offline.

How do I know Fusion 360 is in offline mode?

When Fusion 360 is in offline mode, you will see a cloud icon with a bar across it appear next to your name.

Can I still work in offline mode?

Yes, you can still continue to work on your designs in offline mode. Designs that are cached locally on your machine will be available from the data panel. You can work offline up to a period of two weeks if needed. After this, Fusion 360 will need to sync back online so that you can stay on the latest version.

What happens when I save?

Design saves will be stored locally and synced back up to the cloud when you get back online. Note that while saving in offline mode, Fusion 360 operates on a “last-save-wins” basis. Only one version of each design will be captured and that it will be the “last saved” version of the design. The final version is the only version synced to the dashboard.

How do I get Fusion 360 back online?

Fusion 360 will automatically go back online in the following cases:

1. When it detects an internet connection

2. After you've taken a client-side update

3. After a server-side update
