How to assign users for Fusion 360 from the Product Design & Manufacturing Collection

Generative Design is an extension that is included as a service with Fusion 360. To get started with Generative Design, an individual subscription of Fusion 360 must be assigned to everyone using Generative Design within Fusion 360.

Unlike other products within the Product Design & Manufacturing Collection - each individual user for Fusion 360 needs their own Autodesk Account, and their account includes a subscription to Fusion 360.

Note: Multi-user licenses are not an available option for licensing Fusion 360.

Assigning a seat of Fusion 360 in New User Management

To complete the following steps, the Primary Administrator/Secondary Admin of the Product Design & Manufacturing Collection contract must assign a seat of Fusion 360 to each user for Fusion 360.

  1. Visit your Autodesk Account management page
  2. Select By User from the User Management Tab on the left
  3. Note: Each individual Fusion 360 user needs their own seat and services assigned. If this user is not yet a part of your team - select Invite User and invite them through their email address. If they do not have an Autodesk Account, they need to create one using the same email address.
  4. Enter the end user's first and last name and email address.

Note: To add multiple users, click Switch to multiple invites.

  5. Click Send Invite. The user's status displays as pending until they accept the invitation. They will not have access to any products or services until you assign them.

Once the invite is sent, in the By User tab in User Management, the Status of the user will be set to Active (instead of Pending). To assign the products and services:

  1. Click the “View Details” button when hovering over the user in the By User tab
  2. In this view, you can see all Products and Services assigned to the end user. To assign the Fusion 360 and Generative Design services, services select Assign on the Product Design & Manufacturing Collection and select Assign All.

  3. **Assigning these flex access services provide the user the ability to consume cloud credits from their contract, if applicable.

  2. Select Classic User Management from the User Management Tab on the left

  4. In the User Management tab, if the user does not exist add them as a user by selecting the Add button. This includes adding their First and Last Name, and their email address. An Autodesk Account has to be created for this user, if one does not exist yet.
