Solution:

Important License Information:

To activate Start-Up or Educational licensing, you must download and install Fusion 360 from the Autodesk website or the Autodesk Education Website

  • The free Start-Up/ Enthusiast licenses allow you to access Fusion 360 with a yearly subscription after the trial period has ended. You can use this license if you are a small business making less than $100,000 per year (or equivalent). Also, if you're a hobbyist using Fusion 360 for non-commercial purposes.
  • Educational licenses come in two versions. The Educational license shown in the first section below is an individual license. Educational institutions may prefer to use the group lab installation. If you are an educator or administrator and want to install Fusion 360 at your school, visit the second section for the lab installation instructions.

Start-Up or Educational licensing is not available through the Mac Apple Store. If you have installed Fusion 360 through the Mac Apple Store, perform a clean uninstall of Fusion 360. Then reinstall directly from the Autodesk website or the Autodesk Education website.

Education-to-Commercial license conversion

If the email address or name used in an Autodesk Account has been previously used with any education license, that information cannot be reused in a Fusion start-up or commercial Fusion license. You need to provide new account information.  If you want to maintain the login information associated with an existing account, contact the Education Support Team so they can remove all associated education licenses first.
