Fusion 360 Tech Preview
Issue:
You would like to access the technical preview options in Fusion 360 to preview upcoming technology.
Solution:
Navigate to your user name in the top right corner of Fusion 360 and select preferences under the dropdown menu.
In the preferences menu, select the Preview tab at the bottom of the menu. Check the functionality you wish preview.
When selecting a preview for the first time, a notification will appear. Hitting sign me up will accept the terms and conditions allowing you to access the preview. You can end the previews at any point by unchecking the preview in preferences menu.
Current Previews:
Sketch - Color sketch geometry based on constraint status.
- Creates a visual distinction between sketch entities that are fully constrained and those that have remaining degrees of freedom.
CAM - Waterjet/Laser/Plasma cutter support
- Allows for sheet cutting operations that drive Waterjets, Laser and Plasma cutters.
Live Review - Collaboration support
- Allows for real-time review of 3D designs from Autodesk Fusion 360 to web collaborators.
Mesh Workspace
- Adds a new Mesh workspace, with tools to modify and repair mesh bodies. Also adds two new Sketch tools for reverse engineering, allowing you to take cross-sections of a mesh and build sketch profiles from these.
Simulation - Advanced Study types
- Enable the following Study types in the Simulation workspace: Shape Optimization, Nonlinear Static Stress, and Event Simulation.
