Install, use and uninstall the application

To install Flame, Flare, or Flame Assist:

  1. Change the system date or time, if necessary, before installing the application.

  2. Open a terminal as root from the installation package location and start the application installation by running the installer script:

    ./INSTALL_<PRODUCT>
  3. Read and accept the license agreement.

  4. Once the install finishes, you can start using the application.

Hardware Validation

When launching the Flame Family application for the first time (or if the hardware has been changed), the Hardware Validation utility runs. It can be accessed once the Flame product is installed:

Depending on how the system user is setup, the following options are available:

Uninstall

  1. From the Application Launcher menu, choose Autodesk > Remove Software. The uninstall can also be run in the terminal as sudo /usr/local/bin/rmsoft.
  2. In the software remover dialog, select applications to uninstall in and click Next.
  3. In the Choose Components dialog select or deselect components for removal, and click Next.
  4. In the Folders Listing select or deselect components for removal, and click Next.
  5. In the confirmation dialog click Uninstall & Remove. The uninstallation starts and displays details on the process.
  6. Optionally delete the log files associated with a given application version in /opt/Autodesk/log, or /var/log/ for Flame and with the rmsoft command.
