Import or Export a Database

In the Fabrication products, you can import or export all or just certain parts of a database.

To import all or parts of a database:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • In CADmep, at the command line type DBIMPORT and press Enter.
    • In ESTmep and CAMduct, click File Import Database Import.
  2. Navigate to and select the desired database (*.iox) file to import, and click Open.
  3. On the Database Import dialog, click each tab and select the parts of the database that you want to import.
    On each tab you can expand collections and select specific data at various levels. The following options are available on each tab:
    • Click the Edit button to display an edit dialog that allows you to further view and customize the data being imported.
    • Click the None button to deselect all options on a tab.
    • Click the All button to automatically select all options displays on a tab.
  4. Click OK.

To export all or part of a database:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • In CADmep, at the command line type DBEXPORT and press Enter.
    • In ESTmep and CAMduct, click File Import Database Export.
  2. On the Database Export dialog, click each tab and select the parts of the database that you want to export.
    On each tab you can expand collections and select specific data at various levels. The following options are available on each tab:
    • Click the Edit button to display an edit dialog that allows you to further view and customize the data being exported.
    • Click the None button to deselect all options on a tab.
    • Click the All button to automatically select all options displays on a tab.
  3. Click OK. The Export to File dialog, specify a location and name for the file, and click Save.
