Load a Configuration

With CADmep, ESTmep, or CAMduct, you can load a configuration using the Edit Configuration application. The Edit Configuration application is automatically installed with each of these Fabrication products.

To load a configuration:

  1. Launch the Edit Configuration application using any of the following methods:
    • Desktop shortcut: If there is a desktop shortcut for the Edit Configuration application, double-click it.
    • Double-click editmap.exe: In Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder where the Autodesk Fabrication product is installed (typically C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Fabrication <version>\<Autodesk Fabrication product>) and double-click editmap.exe.
    • From the Start menu: Click the Start button All Programs Autodesk Fabrication <product name> Edit Configuration.
    • The Select Configuration dialog displays.

Note: The name of the associated Fabrication application (CADmep, ESTmep, or CAMduct) displays in the upper left corner of the Edit Configuration dialog. For example, this sample dialog shows the Edit Configuration dialog that is associated with CADmep.

On this dialog, you can select from an existing configuration that is currently installed on your machine. You can also click New to access additional configurations in other locations you have access to.

  2. Click on the configuration you wish to load, from the list of configurations currently displayed in this dialog, or click New to navigate to and select a different configuration that you have access to.
  3. Click OK to load the selected configuration.
