Issue:

You want to know how to create a deployment for DWG TrueView to install (or uninstall) silently, either with a custom script or with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (formerly known as SCCM).

Solution:

Follow these steps:

Silent Install

  1. Download the latest version of DWG TrueViewDownload Autodesk Viewers | Free Online Viewers | Autodesk Official
  2. A file named Create_Installer_PLC0000037_202x_English_WIN64.exe will be downloaded. Actual file name changes depending on the version. When this file is run, it will download the full install files to the Downloads folder.
  3. To run the file silently use the command:
Create_Installer_PLC0000037_202x_English_WIN64.exe -q
Note: Adjust the command depending on your specific file name.
  1. Navigate to your Downloads folder > Autodesk > DWG TrueView folder to find the installation files.
%userprofile%\Downloads\Autodesk\DWG TrueView 2024 - English - (EN)\
  1. Use the below command to install silently:
"%userprofile%\Downloads\Autodesk\DWG TrueView 2024 - English - (EN)\Setup.exe" --silent

Notes:

  • --silent allows for a silent installation with no user interaction or progress bar.
  • You can combine the above two commands (steps 3 and 5) into a custom script.
  • The above command can be used as basis for a script to use via Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (or SCCM), all windows would be hidden.
  • You can have several versions of DWG TrueView installed side-by-side on the same machine. A higher version (e.g. 2020) does not overwrite or upgrade a lower one (e.g. 2019).

Silent Uninstall

Follow the steps under "Silent uninstall" on the article How to silent install and uninstall Autodesk packages using the New Installation Experience (ODIS).
