Issue:

You are receiving an error message that reads "An error was encountered. Please contact your system administrator." or "Constructware Internal Error: An error occurred processing the page you requested" when attempting to view documents in Constructware File Director.

Causes:

The file(s) you are attempting to view contained special characters that should be avoided in Constructware.

Solution:

Please avoid using the following characters in Constructware:

Reserved characters:

< (less than)
> (greater than)
: (colon)
" (double quote)
/ (forward slash)
\ (backslash)
| (vertical bar or pipe)
? (question mark)
* (asterisk)
% (percent)

Note: Avoid copy/paste of text from other applications.
