About Autodesk Collaboration for Civil 3D

Autodesk Collaboration for Civil 3D allows project teams to collaborate on Civil 3D data shortcut projects in BIM 360. Autodesk Collaboration for Civil 3D is available as an entitlement to BIM 360 Design subscribers.

Autodesk Collaboration for Civil 3D workflows

In this example, four project team members who work in different locations are collaborating on a data shortcut project in BIM 360.

Collaborator Workflow

A surveyor using BIM 360 Design and Autodesk Collaboration for Civil 3D.

The surveyor:
  1. Creates a new drawing in Civil 3D and saves the drawing in the BIM 360 project.
  2. Creates a surface and a data shortcut to the surface.

A roadway designer using BIM 360 Design and Autodesk Collaboration for Civil 3D.

The roadway designer:
  1. Creates a new drawing in Civil 3D and saves the drawing in the BIM 360 project.
  2. Creates a data shortcut reference to the surface that the surveyor created in the project.
  3. Creates a corridor model and a data shortcut to the corridor.

An engineering technician using BIM 360 Design and Autodesk Collaboration for Civil 3D.

The engineering technician:
  1. Creates a new drawing in Civil 3D and saves the drawing in the BIM 360 project.
  2. Creates a data shortcut reference to the surface that the surveyor created in the project.
  3. Creates a data shortcut reference to the corridor that the roadway designer created in the project.
  4. Creates section sheets in the drawing based on the surface and corridor.
