An important objective of all infrastructure projects is creating 2D documentation.  Autodesk Civil 3D supports BIM (Building Information Modeling) for enhanced civil engineering design.

To produce complete documentation, all designers must follow these steps:

  1. Model topographic surfaces.
  2. Define one alignment.
  3. Create a topographic surface profile.
  4. Define a design profile.
  5. Define one or more assemblies.
  6. Create a corridor.
  7. Define a section line.
  8. Create a section view.
