1.1 What is happening with Autodesk Buzzsaw and Autodesk Buzzsaw Professional?
On October 7, 2016 Autodesk ended the sale of Buzzsaw and Buzzsaw Professional to new customers. As a continuance of our efforts to transition customers from Buzzsaw to more modern Autodesk cloud-based offerings, Autodesk is discontinuing Buzzsaw and Buzzsaw Professional by January 31, 2019. After this date, customers will no longer be able to access or use Buzzsaw.
All current customers accessing Buzzsaw® through subscription or Token Flex will be granted access to BIM 360 Docs for the duration of their existing Buzzsaw® contracts. Our Customer Success team has established a “White Glove Program” that will ensure a smooth transition process by providing a high touch and personal experience from pre-engagement consultations through implementation.
1.2 When does this change take effect?
Buzzsaw and Buzzsaw Professional will be discontinued as of January 31, 2019. However, our Customer Success team will begin the transition process for existing customers beginning May 2018.
1.3 Why is Autodesk making this change?
With the modernization of technology, Autodesk has made an investment into developing enhanced cloud products that better suit the needs of our customers. The transition away from Buzzsaw to our alternate Autodesk cloud-based products is a great opportunity to not only continue your current workflows, but also dive deeper into developing a more integrated and streamlined process that maximizes on collaboration, data analysis, and increased efficiencies.
1.4 What is the “White Glove Program”?
The “White Glove Program” is run by the Autodesk Customer Success team and will provide all current Buzzsaw users with a single point of contact and personal experience to help them successfully transition to BIM 360 Docs or other appropriate solutions. Through this program, our team will provide insights into best practices for BIM 360 Docs and will assist with set up and configuration.
1.5 How will I get access to a BIM 360 account? Will training be provided?
A member of the “White Glove Program” will assist you in setting up your BIM 360 Docs account. After you have completed a pre-engagement and consultation meeting, we will provide you with the appropriate training and onboarding sessions.
1.6 How can I transfer my data from Buzzsaw to BIM 360 Docs?
Autodesk has partnered to develop a tool to help migrate documents from Buzzsaw to the BIM 360 Docs environment. A member of the “White Glove Program” can provide more guidance and detail on this workflow.
1.7 What will happen to my customer data after migration or the official discontinuation date?
Per Autodesk’s retention/deletion guidelines, we will maintain the data for 90 days after the expiration of your subscription or termination of your subscription contract, whichever comes first. With respect to customers who migrate their data, Autodesk will be deleting customer content from the Buzzsaw server ninety (90) days after migration is complete. Under the “White Glove Program,” Autodesk will assist customers with this migration.
1.8 How will this change impact my existing Buzzsaw subscription?
All current customers accessing Buzzsaw through subscription or Token Flex will be granted access to BIM 360 Docs for the duration of their existing Buzzsaw subscription at no additional charge. Once customers migrate from Buzzsaw to BIM 360 Docs or other appropriate solution, their Buzzsaw subscription contract will terminate and their customer content will be deleted from the Buzzsaw server after ninety (90) days.
1.9 What happens if my current Buzzsaw subscription extends beyond January 31, 2019?
For a small number of customers, whose current Buzzsaw subscriptions extend beyond January 31, 2019, Autodesk will be reaching out directly and will work with them under the “White Glove Program” to migrate to BIM 360 Docs or an alternative solution prior to the January deadline.
