IMPORTANT: As of March 25, 2020 a subscription to BIM 360 Design will include access to a new entitlement called Autodesk Collaboration for Plant 3D. Access to Collaboration for Plant 3D comes at no extra cost to current subscribers of BIM 360 Design, for as long as the subscription is current.
This new entitlement enables teams that use Plant 3D to better collaborate with each other, within one company or across multiple companies. You must have Plant 3D 2021 or later versions to use the new workflows.
What is Collaboration for Plant 3D?
Collaboration for Plant 3D is new functionality added to BIM 360 Design that allows project teams, whether within one company or across multiple companies, to collaborate more securely on Plant 3D project data in BIM 360 Design. It is delivered as a subscription entitlement to BIM 360 Design, like Revit® Cloud Worksharing and Collaboration for Civil 3D.
To learn more, please read the FAQs on Collaboration for Plant 3D, included with BIM 360 Design.
BIM 360 Design helps AEC teams, within one company or multiple companies, to securely collaborate and manage their design data across the project lifecycle. With BIM 360 Design, AEC teams from design to construction are able to collaborate in Revit, Civil 3D, and Plant 3D in real-time, anytime from anywhere. Increased access controls ensure the right data is in the right hands at the right time, while design review features built for AEC enable extended contributors to review designs easily from any device. By centralizing data in the BIM 360 platform and ensuring accountability with design issue tracking and markups, teams can reduce rework, improve productivity, and accelerate project delivery.
With its launch in 2018, BIM 360 Design enables AEC teams to perform Revit Cloud Worksharing, manage how design data is co-authored and exchanged between teams, and understand design changes in context. With the inclusion of Civil 3D and Plant 3D collaboration workflows, Autodesk now offers one of the most comprehensive design collaboration and data management solutions for AEC teams. With anytime, anywhere collaboration regardless of locations and disciplines, architects, engineers, contractors, and extended project contributors can work on horizontal or vertical designs at home, the office, or the jobsite.
A subscription to BIM 360 Design includes the following entitlements which can be managed by team administrators or contract managers::
