The Product Design & Manufacturing Collection includes integrated CAM software for Autodesk Inventor and SOLIDWORKS. This article provides guidance on the system requirements for the various platforms of Autodesk HSM.
Solution:
Because HSM is installed as an add-in for Inventor and Solidworks, it is most important that the system meets the requirements for these programs.
Inventor HSM and Inventor HSM Express

Computer hardware and operating system requirements for Autodesk Inventor can be found at the link below:
- HSM currently supports Inventor versions 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
HSMWorks and HSMXpress for SOLIDWORKS
- Computer hardware and operating system must meet the SOLIDWORKS system requirements as described at the link below:
- HSMWorks and HSMXpress supports the current SOLIDWORKS version and three versions previous. Currently supports SOLIDWORKS 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Installing Inventor HSM, HSMWorks, or HSMXpress
The recommended process is to install HSM products through the manage.autodesk.com site.

- NOTE: The downloads on the development pages are development releases which contain the latest features and fixes. The development versions are, however, not thoroughly tested, and therefore not suitable for production use. For production work, use the latest production versions.
