Issue:

When printing text from AutoCAD that contains Arabic characters, the printout is not correct, however the text is displayed correctly on the screen and during print preview.

One of the following symptoms may appear:
  • The printed output (including a file format such as PDF), the text direction is incorrectly reversed to read left to right.
  • Text in the resulting hard copy or PDF file gets separated.

Solution:

To obtain a correct output of Arabic characters and fonts try one of the following:
  • Install and use a 2024 or newer version of AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT, or DWG TrueView
  • Print to the DWF format using one of the following methods:
    • Use the DWFx ePlot.pc3 printer driver available from AutoCAD.
    • Use the PUBLISH command and under Publish To, select DWF.
  • Open and print the DWF file using any DWF/x-capable viewer such as Navisworks Freedom, Navisworks Manage or Autodesk Design Review:
  • Print to PDF from AutoCAD using the Windows PDF driver or that of another 3rd party, such as Adobe PDF or CutePDF, etc.
