How to acquire the appropriate printer driver for AutoCAD

Solution:

Each plotter manufacturer produces their own drivers that can be used with AutoCAD. Typically, these can be found on the plotter manufacturer's website and are usually the standard driver provided for each supported operating system. However, some printer manufacturers produce AutoCAD-specific drivers which are needed for full compatibility. 

If the most recent driver is not working correctly, revert back to the driver prior to that one. Additionally, it may be necessary to completely remove a printer driver and all its files to obtain a clean install (see How to manually uninstall a printer driver in Windows).
