MPEDIT (Express Tool)

Edits multiple polylines; also converts multiple line and arc objects to polyline objects.

MPEDIT operates like the PEDIT command, but with the added capability of operating on multiple polylines within the same command.

Command: MPEDIT

Select objects: Use an object selection method

Convert Lines and Arcs to polylines? [Yes/No] <Yes>: Unlike PEDIT, this prompt always appears. If you specify No, any selected lines and arcs are ignored.

Enter an option [Open/Close/Join/Width/Fit/Spline/Decurve/Ltype gen/eXit] <eXit>: Enter an option

Each option is applied to all selected polylines.

Note: The fuzz factor prompt in the Join option is a value that allows a series of objects with endpoints that are not precisely coincident to still be joined together into a single polyline. The result is that the equivalent of a Fillet operation with radius 0 is performed on the objects to be joined.

Example

The following illustration displays a circle with overlapping lines and with polylines with varying widths:

With MPEDIT, you can select all the objects, converting the lines into polylines, joining the ones that are contiguous, and changing the widths of all of the polylines to the same value.
