Plant 3D 2018-2020 on BIM 360 Team:

  • using PLANTDEFINECALCPROPERTIES in the common way in a Collaboration project will lead to confusion and inconsistency.
  • it works at the first glance but other users will not get to see the created properties and they will also disappear for the one who created them after working on the configuration.
  • it will work though if you create those calculated properties BEFORE you upload your project to the cloud.
  • this means in an ongoing project you would need to download the project using the backup function in the project manager and edit the calculated properties on that backup project locally before you upload it again to the cloud with a different name. (you can use this to rename the project)
  • don't try to edit these properties after upload, you will get the same problems as described above.

Plant 3D 2021 Collaboration on Bim 360 Docs / Autodesk Docs (ACC):

  • here you can edit during the project, please follow these steps:
  1. Check out Project Setup
  2. Open your Isometric title block setup and leave it open for the next step
  3. Use PLANTDEFINECALCPROPERTIES to create a new calculated property or modify
  4. Close Isometric title block setup and check in Project Setup

Plant 3D 2022 Collaboration on Bim 360 Docs / Autodesk Docs (ACC):

  • You can now use the new "Compare" tool to inject the setup of calculated properties from a template project into your active Collaboration project
  • You open your project from the Cloud and open the compare tool, then you select your local template project where you did create the calculated property before.
  • You will find the calculated properties to be synced in your "classes" section of the tool.
