Text using specific fonts is displayed incorrectly in AutoCAD for Mac after updating to macOS Catalina

Issue:

After updating to macOS 10.15 Catalina, text objects, dimensions, and other AutoCAD objects containing text are displayed incorrectly. This happens both on old drawings and newly created ones. Additionally, they may plot as expected.

Environment:

macOS 10.15 Catalina

Causes:

Conflicting font definition in the User folder.

Solution:

Remove the conflicting font definition from the Fonts folder.
  1. Reboot the system.
  2. Go to the User Font folder.
    • Default location: /Users/<user>/Library/Fonts
  3. Remove any duplicated font file in the folder.
  4. Relaunch AutoCAD.
