Starting July 6, 2019, new purchases of Alias SpeedForm and Alias Design will be discontinued. Other products in the Alias portfolio, including Alias AutoStudio, Alias Surface, and Alias Concept, will continue to be available.
With the 2020 release of Autodesk Alias software, we introduced new, sub-divisional modeling capabilities inside Alias AutoStudio, Alias Surface, and Alias Concept software. Our goal is to converge, connect, and automate design workflows so you can spend more time on design exploration and innovation. As a result, starting July 6, 2019, you can no longer purchase new subscriptions of Alias SpeedForm stand-alone, fast form-finding software or Alias Design software. As of July 6, 2020, Alias SpeedForm and Alias Design software will be retired.
Starting June 2019, Alias Concept is a stand-alone product and is no longer a bundle that includes Autodesk SketchBook and Alias SpeedForm. The functionality that Alias SpeedForm provides is available within the sub-divisional feature in Alias Concept.
Current Alias Concept bundle users will continue to have access to SketchBook (now available as a free product), and certain previous versions of Alias SpeedForm. See the list of eligible previous versions for details.
Alias AutoStudio subscribers will also receive the new, integrated sub-divisional feature set. Subscribers that currently have Alias SpeedForm will continue to have access to previous versions of Alias SpeedForm specified in the list of eligible previous versions.
The direct integration of sub-divisional modeling — enabling hybrid modeling and data re-use — is a significant step towards efficiency as it minimizes the need for designers to toggle between, and learn, different surfacing design systems.
Yes, you can renew current annual subscriptions and maintenance plans until July 6, 2020. Multi-year renewals are available until July 6, 2019.
The sub-divisional feature set in Alias SpeedForm, and the design tools in Alias Design are available in Alias Concept.
If you have maintenance plan, take advantage of our Move to Subscription promotion to switch to a subscription of Alias Concept, which includes sub-divisional modeling, other product enhancements, and subscriber benefits.
