Issue:

When creating materials using the Substance in 3ds Max plugin within the 3ds Max UI, Map Output Selector nodes automatically display between the Substance2 map and 3ds Max material node in the Slate Material Editor.

Environment:

Substance in 3ds Max plugin (Adobe)

Causes:

The 'Hide Single Map Output Selectors' option is not enabled in the 3ds Max Material Editor Preferences.

Solution:

While it is expected behavior that nodes are displayed between the Substance2 map and the material node, some Map Output Selector nodes should be hidden by default.

To remove unnecessary viewing of the Map Output Selector nodes, do the following:
  1. In 3ds Max, open the Slate Material Editor (M).
  2. From the Options menu, choose Preferences.
  3. Under the General Options section, check the box to 'Hide Single Map Output Selectors'.
