Issue:

When trying to import an FBX file created from Navisworks into 3ds Max, it will appear to freeze. Eventually the file will load successfully.

Causes:

Due to the nature of the way Navisworks handles materials, it may be possible to export an FBX file that contains hundreds or even thousands of materials. This will dramatically slow down the import into 3ds Max as it must convert each material to its native format

3ds Max File Properties

Solution:

Reduce the amount of materials used in the Navisworks file before exporting as an FBX

3ds Max; Navisworks Products;
