Install USD for 3ds Max

USD for Autodesk 3ds Max is delivered as a standalone component that you can download from your Autodesk account.

System requirements

USD for Autodesk 3ds Max is supported on systems capable of running 3ds Max 2022 and higher.

Installing and uninstalling

There are two methods for installing USD for Autodesk 3ds Max:

Autodesk Desktop App:

1. Open the Autodesk Desktop app.
2. Log in to your account, if necessary.
3. Choose the 3ds Max category on the left-hand side.
4. Scroll to select USD for Autodesk 3ds Max.
5. Click Install.

Autodesk Portal:

1. Log into your Autodesk account at manage.autodesk.com.
2. Navigate to the installer MSI for the USD Extension from your account:
   1. Under the Products and Services tab, select 3ds Max.
   2. Scroll to select your version of 3ds Max.
   3. Under the Extensions tab, select View Details.
3. Download the installer and manually install.

Uninstalling

You can uninstall the plug-in manually.

1. In Search Windows, type Programs.
2. Select Add or Remove Programs.
3. Select USD Extension for 3ds Max.
4. Click Uninstall.
