Arnold | Initial support for texture baking. |
Alembic file import and export | Alembic support continues to maximize compliance with VFX standards and compatibility with other DCC tools. Updated to Version 1.7, Alembic now supports instances, allowing files to be drastically smaller while maintaining their original complexity. Tree View and searching is improved in the Inspector Window, and files shared between 3ds Max and Maya are now UV compatible. |
OSL (Open Shading Language) | Improvements to the OSL source editor include the display of line numbers, more intuitive keyboard shortcuts, and matching brackets are now highlighted. In addition, many more OSL shaders are supported in the viewport when in "Realistic Mode with Maps." |
Interface | Track View, Scene Explorer, and State sets are now windowed, based on user feedback. Fluid spinners now provide visual cues when they represent an object/value in an indeterminate state. |
Shared Views | Autodesk Materials and Vray material with textures can now be exported using Shared Views. |
General improvements | Over 160 existing issues have been fixed, many of which were originally submitted by the 3ds Max user community. See the Release Notes for details on customer facing issues. Thank you for your input! |
