Visualizing CFD Data

You can import data from a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation, and visualize the velocity, temperature, and pressure in a variety of ways.

The relevant commands are available on the Create > AEC Objects > CFD Visualization menu when using the default menus, or on the Objects > CFD Visualization menu when using the enhanced menus.

The general procedure involves two basic steps:
  1. Import a CSV (comma-separated values) file containing CFD data.
  2. Create one or more objects to interpret and display the data.

The installed tools assume that the data was saved from Autodesk Simulation CFD as a CSV file. However, because the tools are built using the Max Creation Graph (MCG), they can be used as guides for building similar tools to support other formats or to visualize the data in different ways.
