What's New in CFD and Simulation Data

Autodesk CFD subscribers are now able to better visualize their data using a new MCG toolset and 3ds Max features that simplify the import, parsing, and display of data sets. Ideal for users without a programming background, these tools can be used to incorporate other types of simulation data as well. Apply render styles, CFD velocity fields, and animate airflow splines while at the same time harnessing the capabilities of 3ds Max for amazingly realistic presentations.

To quickly import data from Autodesk Simulation CFD and visualize the velocity, temperature, and pressure in a variety of ways, use the commands on the Create > AEC Objects > CFD Visualization menu (Objects > CFD Visualization on the enhanced menus) asdescribed in Visualizing CFD Data. Because these tools are built using MCG, you can adapt them to create your own custom visualizations or support other CSV data.

Using CSV and OpenVDB files, simulation data can now also be imported and exported for use in many new tools.
