This readme contains important information regarding the installation and contents of this Service Pack. It is recommended that you read the entire document before you apply the Service Pack to your product. Save or print this document for your future reference.

Apply this Service Pack to the following Autodesk products running on all supported operating systems and languages. Be sure to install the correct Service Pack.

This Service Pack can be applied to AutoCAD Electrical 2017 installed as a standalone application as well as AutoCAD Electrical 2017 installed from Autodesk Product Design Suite 2017.
Note: Unlike the previous service packs, this service pack DOES NOT include AutoCAD 2017 Service Pack 1. You are encouraged to install AutoCAD 2017 Service Pack 1 together with AutoCAD Electrical 2017 Service Pack 1. You may refer to the AutoCAD 2017 Service Pack 1 readme for more information on the issues resolved.
As a result of the detailed information that we received from customers who used the Customer Error Reporting Utility, we were able to identify and fix the problems listed below:
Project Tools
- There were occasional crashes when swapping/updating blocks.
Note: This is fixed in AutoCAD 2017 Service Pack 1 (need to install separately).
- There were occasional crashes when testing dynamic blocks.
The following defects have been fixed:
Catalog Browser
- Project Specific Catalog Database cannot be used.
- Occasionally Catalog Database cannot be edited when working in a multi user environment.
Panel Layout
- AEMOVE on panel symbol does not move attached balloon.
Project Manager
- Project properties are not updated correctly when a project is copied and the descriptions are edited.
Reports
- Incorrect quantity in purchase list BOM when using the Assembly Code for the component.
Tagging
- Some attributes are hidden for parent but shown for children when insert a 3-pole component.
Terminals
- WIRENO attribute for terminals toggle to invisible in panel layout after invoking edit dialog.
- Multiline attribute of the miscellaneous in the panel symbol is not honored.
- Multi-connection sequence terminal feature is not supporting the reporting of the interconnecting cable marker tags.
Wire Sequence
- Unexpected direct to terminal connection is created in Edit Wire Connection Sequence Dialog after editing the destination of terminals in Terminal Strip Editor.
Before you install this Service Pack, review the following information:
Back Up Custom Files
It is recommended that you create backups for all custom CUIx, MNR, and MNL files before you apply this Service Pack.
Administrator Privileges
During installation, you will be prompted for the original installation media or a network image. To apply this Service Pack, you must have administrator privileges to install and uninstall products. For cyber security reasons, after installing or uninstalling, it is strongly recommended that you return your User Account Control (UAC) to reduced, non-administrator privileges.
Network Deployment
Administrators can deploy this Service Pack over a network using the Deployment wizard.
About Your Product
After you install the Service Pack, updated product information displays in the About dialog box.
Reboot
After you install this Service Pack, it is recommended that you reboot your system even if you are not prompted to do so.
The following Microsoft Windows command line switches are built into this Service Pack:
Instructions about how to use the /e command line switch are included in the installation procedures that follow.
Note: If you are also upgrading your operating system from Windows 7 or 8.1 to Windows 10, the order in which you apply the AutoCAD Electrical service pack, either before or after the upgrade, makes no difference.
Follow these instructions to install this Service Pack on a single computer.
Follow these instructions to install this Service Pack on multiple computers using your local network.
Note: Installation through your local network using the CAD Manager Control Utility is not supported for this Service Pack.
The following distribution method applies only to administrative images created with the Deployment wizard.
Note: When the AutoCAD Electrical Service Pack is included in a deployment, the deployment will install the Service Pack.
