This readme contains important information regarding the installation and contents of this Service Pack. It is recommended that you read the entire document before you apply the Service Pack to your product.

You can apply this Service Pack to the following Autodesk products running on all supported operating systems and languages. Be sure to install the correct Service Pack for your software.

This Service Pack can be applied to AutoCAD Electrical 2016 installed as a standalone application as well as AutoCAD Electrical 2016 installed from Autodesk Product Design Suite 2016.
Note: If you are a subscription user, and have already installed AutoCAD Electrical 2016 Subscription Advantage Pack 1, please download and install the Service Pack for Subscription Advantage Pack 1 from Autodesk Account website, or install it from Application Manager.
Note: Unlike the previous service packs, this service pack DOES NOT include AutoCAD 2016 Service Pack 1. You are encouraged to install AutoCAD 2016 Service Pack 1 together with AutoCAD Electrical 2016 Service Pack 1. You may refer to the AutoCAD 2016 Service Pack 1 readme for more information on the issues resolved.
The following operating systems are officially supported for 32-bit and 64-bit AutoCAD Electrical 2016 with Service Pack 1.
As a result of the detailed information that we received from customers who used the Customer Error Reporting Utility, we were able to identify and fix a number of problems. Updates have been made in the following commands and features:
Project Manager
- Occasional crashes when launching AutoCAD Electrical if there are some special projects activated in the Project Manager.
The following defects have been fixed by AutoCAD Electrical 2016 Service Pack 1:
Catalog Browser
- Catalog database becomes read-only when there are multiple users editing in the same time.
Component
- Failed to insert or edit a child component on a drawing which is not part of the active project.
Project Manager
- AutoCAD Electrical 2016 does not work properly when there is apostrophe in the drawing path.
- AutoCAD Electrical 2016 does not work properly when using an alternate wd.env file.
- Projects cannot be remembered in the Project Manager when the wd.env is not in the default path.
Location View
- Wire connection is not shown in location view if side by side install AutoCAD Electrical 2016 with AutoCAD 2016 or other vertical products.
PLC
- Inserting a PLC module no longer changes the properties of the box.
- Inserting parametric PLC fails when breaking into multiple drawings.
Report
- Report cannot be put on drawing in some localized versions.
- Report will be blank when printing by clicking the Print button in the Report Generator dialog.
Before you install this Service Pack, review the following information:
Back Up Custom Files
It is recommended that you back up all custom CUIX, MNR, and MNL files before you apply this Service Pack.
Administrative Privileges
During installation, you will be prompted for the original installation media or a network image. To apply this Service Pack, you must have administrator privileges to install and uninstall products.
Network Deployment
Administrators can deploy this Service Pack over a network using the Deployment Wizard.
About Your Product
After you install the Service Pack, updated product information will display in the About dialog box.
Reboot
After you install this Service Pack, it is recommended that you reboot your system even if you are not prompted to do so.
The following Microsoft Windows command line switches are built into this Service Pack:
Instructions about how to use the /e command line switch are included in the installation procedures that follow.
Follow these instructions to install this Service Pack on a single computer.
Follow these instructions to install this Service Pack on multiple computers using your local network.
Note: Installation through your local network using the CAD Manager Control Utility is not supported for this Service Pack.
The following distribution method applies only to administrative images created with the Deployment wizard.
Note: When the AutoCAD Electrical Service Pack is included in a deployment, the deployment will install the Service Pack.
