Flex rates for pay-per-result cloud services

Autodesk Support

Jan 14, 2025

This article lists Flex token rates for pay-per-result cloud services such as rendering, simulation, optimization, and scanning services.

For products and services that charge a daily rate once every 24 hours, see the Flex rate sheet. For information about purchasing and managing Flex tokens, see Autodesk Flex.

Flex tokens are replacing cloud credits

Beginning March 29, 2022, Flex tokens can be used to pay for most pay-per-result cloud services. Previously, only cloud credits were used to pay for these services.

For more information about the transition from cloud credits to Flex tokens, see cloud credits.

Flex rates for pay-per-result cloud services

svcServiceRateDescription
cfd-svcCFD cloud service5, 10, or 35 tokens per simulationFive, ten, or thirty-five tokens are charged for a simple, moderate, or complex job, respectively. For a description of job complexity, see Running CFD Simulations in the Cloud. Note, a CDF subscription is required to access this service.
cfdAutodesk Platform Services (formerly Forge)See pricing for detailsTokens consumed for premium API access and usage. See pricing for details. Please note that your use of Autodesk Platform Services (“APS”) (formerly Forge) as a Flex Offering is subject to the terms included in the APS Terms of Service (available here), the General Terms (available here), and the Flex terms (available here). If there is any conflict between the APS Terms of Service, the General Terms, and the Flex terms, the APS Terms of Service will control in relation to their subject matter.
Autodesk Flow Wedging2 tokens per compute hour, independent of machine instance usedFlow Wedging has a rate of two tokens per hour of consumption. The Flow Wedging Service executes via a single task (a single Bifrost execution or Bifrost wedge), or a collection of tasks (a job). The total number of tokens is based on the aggregate compute hours of processing, with a maximum of 48 compute hours per task. Fractional token charges are accrued during usage but are only deducted from your account when the accrued amount reaches the minimum billing unit of 2 tokens (1 hour). For example, if 15 tasks are submitted to run in parallel and consume a total of 45 minutes, no tokens will be deducted. If 5 additional tasks consuming 15 minutes are submitted later, you will see a charge of two tokens (45 min. + 15 min. = 60 min. or 1 hour).
CFD5, 10, or 35 tokens per solve, depending on study size and complexityThe token cost for a CFD cloud simulation is based on the complexity of the model. For example, steady state vs. transient, or the addition of radiation to a thermal will vary the tokens required for the solve. The cost is communicated through a popup menu to review prior to initiating the simulation. See the CFD product help for additional details. Note: An active CFD subscription is required to access this service. To use this service, version CFD 2023 or later is required. If using an earlier version, the user must update to CFD 2023 to access cloud solve.
svc0000063Fusion Simulation Extension3 or 6, or 11 tokens per studyThe cost of a study in the Simulation Extension depends on the study type. No additional tokens are charged for a linear static stress study, three tokens are charged for a Basic Simulation study, and six tokens are charged for an Advanced Simulation study. Eleven tokens are charged for a Generative Design study.
For a list of Basic and Advanced study solutions, see Fusion Simulation below.
Autodesk Validation Tool1 token per successful model/checkTo learn more about AVT token consumption in Flex, visit the AVT product help page.
svc0000033Insight – Lighting Analysis for Revit1 token per 12” (30.5 cm) analysisOne token is charged each twelve inches of Solar Access analysis up to 2,500 square feet (232 sq m). Tokens are not charged for lower resolutions below certain area thresholds. For information about analysis type and resolution, see Insight Lighting analysis below.
moldflowMoldflow – Compute Service7 tokens per analysis componentSeven tokens are charged for each analysis component. For example, twenty-one tokens are charged if you specify cool, flow, and warp components for analysis. For information about the cost of jobs, and for design of experiments (DOE) or parametric analysis, see the Moldflow product help. Note, a Moldflow Insight subscription, or access via Flex, is required to access this service.
svc0000083ReCap Photo1 token per 50 photosOne token is charged for every 50 photos. For example, two tokens are used to convert 85 aerial photos to a 3D site model. For more about converting photos, see ReCap Photo help.
svc0002432Recap Scan-to-Mesh1 token per 150, 300, or 600 M pointsOne token is charged each 150, 300, or 600 million scan points for fine, medium, or coarse mesh resolutions, respectively. For example, a project consisting of 1 billion (1,000 M) scan points costs six tokens for a fine mesh. The same project costs three tokens for a medium mesh, or one token for a coarse mesh. For a description of mesh resolutions, see Scan to Mesh Quality Levels.
RenderingWSRendering1 token per 3 MP or 6 MPOne token is charged each 6 megapixel (6 MP) at standard quality, or each 3 MP at final quality. For example, a 3840 x 2160 (8 MP) image costs one token for standard quality, or two tokens for final quality. Higher rates may apply for non-basic rendering types such as multi-frame or illuminance. For more on rendering types and quality, see FAQ for Rendering.

Fusion Simulation Study Types

There is no charge for linear static stress studies, which are included with your Fusion subscription. Also, Tokens are not charged if you have a subscription to the Fusion Simulation Extension.

Basic Study - 3 tokens

  • Thermal
  • Thermal stress
  • Modal frequencies
  • Shape optimization

Advanced Study - 6 Tokens

  • Structural buckling
  • Event simulation
  • Nonlinear static stress
  • Injection molding simulation
  • Electronics cooling

Generative Design Study – 11 Tokens

  • Structural Component

For more about Fusion Simulation Studies, see Fusion Simulation Studies and/or Fusion Generative Design Studies.

Insight Lighting analysis

Between 5 and 40 tokens are charged per quantity of square feet, depending on analysis type and grid resolution. For small areas, there is no charge for an analysis that would otherwise cost four tokens or less.
