Corridor modelling with C3D is easy and handy. Simply combine an alignment a Profile and profile assemblies to get a 3D model of your Road, dyke trench etc (https://autode.sk/2DmlmFo) . From this corridor, you can calculate volumes and obtain automatic section views.
But: In preconstruction modeling of linear infrastructure, you often need to have a solid model and have it cut into segments representing e. g. construction stages.
Extracting the Corridor solids from the corridor is easy: Use the Extract Corridor Solids command to extract AutoCAD solids or bodies from corridor model shapes and links (https://autode.sk/2Dyha5g). But what about cutting these solids into segments? This is easy too. Thanks to Dynamo for Civil 3D: With the example Script Civil3D_SplitCorridorSolid.dyn (Find it here: https://autode.sk/30wsqIF ) you can splits corridor solids into segments by defining an incremental value.
In my approach in the video below, I am using a list with stations values to cut the corridor solids into segments. (I also attached the dynamo script to the AKN article. Feel free to adjust the script to you needs and start automating).
