When I try to install I get an Internal Error 2738

Issue:

  • When installing your software, you get an Internal 2738 error. This may display on screen or in the Windows Event Viewer.
  • After installation, Maya 2017 shows setup.exe file is missing.

Causes:

An unregistered DLL or a conflict with McAfee Antivirus or a prior installation of McAfee. When McAfee is uninstalled it may leave residual traces that can affect installs.

Solution:

Certain Anti-Virus programs have been known to affect the registration of a particular DLL. If you had McAfee Anti-Virus in the past (even if you have uninstalled it will leave some trace components on the computer), please use this McAfee tool to remove it completely: McAfee Download Tool .
