Solution:
What Education suites will be discontinued?
Autodesk Education Master Suite (EMS) and Autodesk Design Academy (ADA) Suite were discontinued on April 16, 2015.
Why did Autodesk discontinue these suites?
In May 2014, we began to offer key products for education globally, free of charge. Education customers have free* access to many of our professional products and suites as available on the Education Community.
What happens after EMS and ADA are discontinued?
These suites will be removed from various channels of delivery, including partners, stores, and the Academic Resource Center (ARC). All current available versions will be discontinued.
Will EMS and ADA be replaced?
No. We will release new product offerings for education customers. You can choose from these new releases when they become available.
What happens to versions of EMS and ADA that I have already licensed?
The licenses of the registered products do not change. You may continue to use the products you have licensed until the license expires.
What happens when my license for EMS and/or ADA expires?
Join the Education Community to obtain the latest version of Autodesk suites and other products available to educational institutions.
Can I activate unregistered serial numbers for EMS and ADA after April 16, 2015?
The product key and serial number issued to you will remain valid. You can still activate your EMS/ADA after April 16, 2015, if you already have a serial number.
For registered products, what happens if I need to download EMS or ADA again?
You can access your registered product list through Autodesk Account and download from there.
See: Download Methods
What happens to EMS and ADA maintenance plan contracts?
The contractual period remains unchanged. However, there will be no renewal option for EMS or ADA upon contract termination. There will be no product upgrade for EMS or ADA.
Note: "Maintenance Subscription" is now called "maintenance plan," and is accessible from your
Autodesk Account.
Can I extend my EMS or ADA maintenance plan?
No. EMS and ADA maintenance plans cannot be extended. In some cases, a purchased subscription contract may consist of more than EMS and/or ADA. You may request extensions on other products under the same contract.
Can I still access old versions (before 2015) of EMS and ADA?
As part of your maintenance plan benefits, you can request previous versions if you have already registered a copy of EMS or ADA 2015. Products older than the 2015 version can be requested through Autodesk Account .
See: Requesting a Previous Version License
What happens to the other maintenance plan benefits?
Except renewal and upgrade, the other maintenance plan benefits remain unchanged, including support (depending on level of support acquired), product enhancements, previous versions, complimentary cloud credits, etc.
What about multiple-year contract fulfillment?
EMS 2015 and ADA 2015 are the last releases for EMS and ADA. In addition, EMS and ADA Subscriptions will not be renewed. Other benefits remain the same. If you have downloaded and installed a 2015 product as a component of EMS to use a new version of that product when it is released, you will need to download the latest version suite that includes that product from the Education Community.
What if I don't have a maintenance plan?
Educational institutions can obtain current products and associated maintenance plans from the Education Community. Register for access to Educational licenses and the latest releases of product suites to receive a maintenance subscription.
